The Weekly Wave
Welcome back to the Weekly Wave! Let’s see what news, updates, and announcements have risen to the surface this week!
WOTC celebrates Pride Month with pride-themed D&D and MTG gear!
Just like they have done for years, Wizards of the Coast is doing their part this month with special goods that will help them support a great cause. These goods include shirts, hoodies, and playmats that feature cool Pride-themed art and colors for both MTG and D&D players!
Here’s a closer look:
Wizards of the Coast plans to take a portion of the proceeds from these Pride-themed items and donate the funds to The Trevor Project. So, if you want to add some cool MTG/D&D pride gear to your collection and do your part for a cause that has helped so many in the LGBTQ community, this is a great time to do it.
These Pride MTG and D&D products will be available from Wizards of the Coast throughout the month of June! Click here to see and shop ALL the Pride gear in their collection this year!
So long, Pokémon TCG Online!
Well, we knew it was coming, and this week it finally happened. With the introduction of Pokémon TCG Live, TCG Online has now come to an end. It actually lasted longer than originally planned, since the beta for TCG Live was delayed last year. However, TCG Live officially released this week, which means Online will be going away for good. The servers have been shut down, making room for a new era of online Pokémon TCG gameplay.
Players were encouraged to move their content from Online to Live prior to the release, but those who waited will now see their collections automatically appear in TCG Live. Both systems use the same Trainer Club log-in service, which allows for the easy and automatic migration of players’ collections.
While many have welcomed Pokémon TCG Live with open arms, there are still some who will miss TCG Online and all that it offered over the years. Even those who have been looking forward to TCG Live can’t help but shed a small tear for Online’s permanent departure. It will be missed.
Pokémon TCG Live is set to officially take over on June 8, so if you haven’t signed in or tried it yet, tomorrow is the day to do it. Pokémon TCG Online gave us some of our best memories, and hopefully Pokémon TCG Live will do the same!
Good luck, Trainers!
Did you hear about our upcoming Kickstarter campaign?
In case you missed the updates from last week, we’re kicking off a Kickstarter campaign this July to help us bring an old friend, and some new ones, to our collection. CUSTOM SLEEVES are coming back to Inked Gaming, and everyone here is super excited about their return!
It’s been a long time since Custom Sleeves were a part of our collection, but after years of careful planning and patience, we found a way to bring them back where they belong. These sleeves will also feature awesome in-store art from some of our most talented designers, including David Lozeau, Michael Whelan, Frank Frazetta, Colordrilos, Clint Cearley, and more. We will also be introducing new custom and art Deck Boxes and Mat Bags as part of this Kickstarter.
In order to bring these Custom Sleeves and other new products to life, we need some help funding the final stages of the production machinery setup, which is where our Kickstarter campaign comes in. This will be our first ever Kickstarter, but with 11+ years of experience, a great team, and such an awesome community around us, we’re confident we can make these products a reality for you very soon. The Kickstarter goes live on July 1, 2023 and will run for 30 days.
Until then, be sure to sign up for our SMS list, that way you can stay in the loop with the latest info and updates. Those who join the SMS will also receive some nice perks when the Kickstarter kicks off, such as a 2-hour head start and alert when the campaign goes live. We’ll have a pretty awesome early bird special you won’t want to miss too, so that head start could be a big bonus when the time comes. Text the word KICKSTARTER to +1 (855) 653-2517, and you’ll be in the know every step of the way!
You can find more details about our Kickstarter campaign in the blog post HERE!
That’s all for now! Stay tuned for our next edition of The Weekly Wave for more fun stories and updates!
Sincerely,
Inked Gaming
