Happy 4th of July! We hope you all have a fun and safe holiday weekend. Whether you do that by eating some food, playing some games, watching fireworks, or celebrating in some other way, we all wish you a wonderful weekend! 

Our team is going to be taking some time to relax and have fun with our loved ones this weekend as well. When all of us in the warehouse started talking about our weekend plans, they mostly involved gaming in one form or another. After spending a little bit of time comparing our favorite games for this kind of weekend, we realized some of you may be interested as well.

If you’re looking for a little inspiration for something fun to do, or if you’re just a gaming fan like us, we’ve created a list of top party and board games that are sure to provide some entertainment. Check them out below!

 

1. Love Letter

Objective = “Deliver love letters to the Princess to win her affection in this essential card game,” according to Z-Man Games.

Players = 2 - 6 

Play Time = 20 minutes

Age = 10 years+

 

2. Telestrations

Objective = “Draw what you see then guess what you saw for hilarious and unpredictable outcomes,” according to usaopoly.

Players = 4 - 8 

Play Time = 10-15 minutes

Age = 12 years+

 

3. Codenames

Objective = “The two rival spymasters know the secret identities of 25 agents. Their teammates know the agents only by their CODENAMES. The teams compete to see who can make contact with all of their agents first,” according to Czech Games Edition.

Players = 2 - 8+

Play Time = 15 minutes

Age = 14 years+

 

4. Hanabi

Objective = “In this collective game, all the players work together to create a beautiful firework display. But every player has to hold his cards back to front: you cannot see your own cards! So you have to give your partners smart advice and remember all the information collected,” according to Cocktail Games.

Players = 2 - 5

Play Time = 25 minutes

Age = 8 years+

 

5. Monikers

Objective = “Monikers is pretty simple: get your friends to guess the name on a card. Each team has 60 seconds to get through as many weird, inappropriate names as they can,” according to MonikersGame.com.

Players = 4 - 16+

Play Time = 30 - 60 Minutes

Age = 18 years+

 

6. Raccoon Tycoon  

Objective = “In Racoon Tycoon, players try to produce the most valuable commodities in an ever changing marketplace. They then use those commodities to build towns, or sell them at the best price to secure great profits that can be used to win auctions for the all-important railroads. The profits may also be used to buy powerful buildings that give the players power-ups or bonuses in production. Owning the best towns and railroads determines victory,” according to Forbidden Games.

Play Time = 90 minutes

Age = 8 years+

 

7. Skulls

Objective = “Skull & Roses is the quintessence of bluffing, a game in which everything is played in the players' heads. Each player plays a face-down card, then each player in turn adds one more card – until someone feels safe enough to state that he can turn a number of cards face up and get only roses,” according to BoardGameGeek.

Players = 3 - 6

Play Time = 45 minutes

8. Time's Up! Title Recall!

Objective = “Time is ticking as you try to get your partner to guess as many famous TV shows, songs, movies, books and more in the Deck of Fame as possible. Rounds get trickier as the game goes on,” according to R & R Games

Play Time = 60 minutes

Age = 12 years+

 

9. Year of the Dragon 

Objective = “Players take on the role of Chinese rulers around the year 1000. The game plays out in twelve rounds, with each round representing one month in a year that seems to go from bad to worse. Disease, drought, and attacks from the Mongols may claim lives, but make sure you have enough money to offer a tribute to the Emperor,” according to BoardGameGeek.

10. Happy Salmon

Objective = “At the same time, everyone calls out the action shown on their top card. When two players have a match, they celebrate by performing that action together, then discard their top card. Keep doing this. The first player to discard all their cards wins!” according to North Star Games.
