Star Wars: The Bad Batch series is coming out this May

I told you that 2021 was going to be a busy year, and now with this new Star Wars animated series, we have even more to look forward to. The Mandalorian and The Clone Wars series were extremely successful, and the creators of both are looking to continue that success with some new series releases. We all know about the Boba Fett series coming out sometime later this year, which we’ll cover when we get closer to the release date. But, here’s another series coming out even sooner. In fact, it’s only about a month or so away.

The creators and producers behind The Mandalorian and the Clone Wars series have used their talents and knowledge of the force to bring a new animated series to life. This series will be called, Star Wars: The Bad Batch. In this post, we will take a closer look at this new Bad Batch series, including the story, its creators, and its release date.

So, if you’re down, let’s once again make the jump to lightspeed...together!

What’s it about?

According to numerous reports, Star Wars: The Bad Batch is set to take place sometime after the Clone Wars and will tell the story of an elite, experimental group of Clone Force 99 troops. These troops were first introduced to us in the original Clone Wars stories, but are now known as The “Bad Batch”. This Bad Batch is described as a “unique squad of clone commandos who vary genetically from their fellow clones in the Clone Army.” Each soldier has a particular skill that makes them even more dangerous during battles. So, anyone who crosses them will have more than they can handle, especially if combat is involved.

We will follow these troops (aka The Bad Batch) on their journey/adventure through the universe, which involves numerous missions, interactions, and action-packed sequences.

Who is involved with the series?

You’ll be happy to know that the same brilliant minds and talented voices behind The Mandalorian, The Clone Wars, and others are collaborating on The Bad Batch as well. You may recognize names like Dave Filoni, Brad Rau, Carrie Beck, Jennifer Corbett, and Josh Rimes. If you’ve paid attention to the credits in numerous Star Wars series, you know all of these people for their roles as writers, directors, and executive producers, which means they played an important role in bringing each series to life. And that’s exactly what they plan to do together with this new Bad Batch series.

I’ve also heard that many familiar voices from previous shows are returning for this series as well. There aren’t a lot of names listed on IMDb right now, but I’m sure that will change as we get closer to the release date. That’s actually a nice segway into my next piece of important info.

When and where can you watch it?

Star Wars: The Bad Batch is going to be released on Star Wars Day, May 4th! That actually falls on a Tuesday this year, so make sure that you mark it on your calendar if you have to. I know that there are many of us who won’t ever forget the date. Just like The Mandalorian (and other Star Wars series), you can watch The Bad Batch on Disney Plus
