Magic: The Gathering D&D themed set coming in 2021

Hey, everyone! So, just in case you didn’t get the news, or update, or memo, or whatever you want to call it, there is something pretty exciting happening in the D&D and MTG world this year! D&D is going to be receiving its very own MTG set in 2021! I realize that this news goes back to around September of 2020, but with so much happening this year already, I thought it couldn’t hurt to put it out there for all of our readers who might not be in the know.

In this post, I’m just going to give you a very brief rundown of what we know so far, which is not a lot, and what we can expect from this latest crossover set.

The news actually broke during a livestream presenting the Zendikar Rising set that was posted on Youtube back in September. During the stream, it was announced that a major crossover was happening between D&D and MTG. From there, we learned that D&D would have its own MTG set, which would come out sometime during the summer (or Q3) of 2021. This new D&D set has an official title as well: "Adventures in the Forgotten Realms".

Now, according to numerous sources, fans and even our own MTG/D&D aficionado, Mitch, Adventures in the Forgotten Realms has the potential to be the most popular set in MTG history. Mitch even tells me that he hasn’t heard so much buzz and excitement surrounding a single set in his 20 years of following MTG! According to Mitch, Wizards has never really orchestrated a proper D&D-based set until now. So, to say that this will be a gamechanger for both MTG and D&D fans is an understatement.

That’s pretty much all that we know right now. I told you it was going to be brief. I could go on and tell you about some of the different rumors and speculations that are swirling around the internet right now, but I’d rather wait and give your only official/confirmed updates. In fact, I’m thinking of turning this into another mini-series of sorts that provides you with little bunches of new, official info and updates as they are released by Wizards. Sound good? Let me know in the comments below. Also, be sure to leave me any of your thoughts, expectations and/or opinions about this latest D&D set as well.

Until we meet again,
