We know that we recently featured some of the new, licensed shirts that were just added to our collection, but that doesn’t mean that the awesome artist tees that are on our site don’t deserve a little bit of that spotlight. The artists behind the designs printed on these tees should be familiar to you, as their work is featured throughout our site and numerous other items.
We’ve highlighted their playmats, puzzles, mousepads, totes, and tapestries before, which are great for sprucing up your game. This time, however, we wanted to change things up a bit by highlighting the items that are great for sprucing up your look/wardrobe as well. Heck, we even have t-shirts that feature official cover art from bestselling books, provided to us directly from the artist.
With that in mind, let’s skip to the good stuff.
Artist: Michael Whelan
The man, the legend, the Grand Master...Michael Whelan has given us so much over his 40-year career, and now he’s given even more with bestselling designs like this. Even with his well-deserved legendary status and accolades, Michael has chosen to become a part of our growing network of talented designers, and we are absolutely ecstatic!
Artist: Liiga Smilshkalne
As a gifted illustrator, Liiga found that the best way to convey her passion for nature and the peculiar is through her vivacious art. By using art as her primary outlet for expression, Liiga’s immense body of work is more than just a collection of colorful drawings, it’s a window to her unique personality and innovative spirit. To us, that’s art in its truest, purest form.
Artist: Beyond the Machina
Give Beyond the Machina a blank canvas (physical or virtual) some black and white ink and a few hours and he’ll deliver a design that everyone will be talking about. That’s why we’re glad to have one of his most popular arts (Did You Know Salt?) in our apparel collection.
Artist: Clint Cearley
Clint is another artist who makes our love for fantasy and Magic more official, as he is actually an MTG artist who continues to impress us with his unique visions, some of which can be found in the Magic Realm. So, to have them printed on a few t-shirts is great for us and better for you. If you look in his portfolio, you’ll find breathtaking landscapes, brave beauties, combat-ready creatures, and more
The wondrous work that TsaoShin has come up with reminds us why we love what we do every day. As you can see, TsaoShin makes use of a lot of different colors that really come together quite nicely on certain characters and creatures that they’re trying to bring to life. Night Dragon is a perfect example of that, which is why we had to have it printed on a shirt.
Artist: Mathew Sinderson
Self-described as a part-time artist and full-time supervillain, Mathew Sinderson is one of our favorite artists because he’s honest (as you can tell), local (from Portland, OR), and knows the kind of cute creature that we’re more partial to. So, let’s just say that we absolutely, positively had to have his Bath Time Kraken on a shirt.
If you like what you’ve seen so far, go ahead and check out some of the other t-shirt designs that are hiding in our apparel collection just waiting to be discovered.
Bottom line, we think these shirts are, and always will be, amazing, especially since they come straight from the imagination of some of our most gifted artists. That’s why we want to keep them relevant and remind you not to forget about some of the key pieces that started our apparel collection in the first place.
