Celebrity comedians playing D&D at Live event in July

Our fellow D&D enthusiasts are going to love this story, especially if they liked the D&D celebrity listicle that I wrote up back in 2020. This year, I’m highlighting an upcoming D&D Live play event that will be taking place in mid-July. But this won’t be any usual D&D Live event. No, this one is going to be extra special, full of laughs, and for a good cause. A group of well-known comedians is going to be playing D&D during the event, which will be streamed for 2 days.

That’s right, two days of celebrity comics coming together and playing through their own D&D campaign. My imagination is already beginning to run wild. Yours will too once you find out who’s going to be involved. Let’s just say they’re familiar faces that you have had to watched or heard at one point.

In what follows, I’ll give you all the details, including the who, where, when, and how. There’s also a charitable aspect to this event that I think you’ll appreciate as well. Let’s find out what’s going on!

Wizards of the Coast actually made the announcement for this new D&D Live event in the middle of June. In that announcement, they revealed the list of celebrity comedians that will be in attendance. Those celebs/comedians include:

It’s been confirmed that Kate Welch will be the DM of the game and that a mystery guest will be taking part in the event as well. We can also confirm that the event will focus on The Wild Beyond the Witchlight adventure as well as the D&D/MTG crossover Strixhaven: Curriculum of Chaos. I thought this was pretty cool considering that both products/adventures are brand new and have yet to be released. So, this is a perfect opportunity to preview both and how they work during a live event.

Again, the event will last two days (July 16th - 17th) and will stream on a host of different outlets, such as Peacock, Youtube, D&D’s Twitch channel, and the G4 network. I’m happy to say that the event will be giving back to a charitable cause as well. Specifically, the Extra Life organization, which is partnered with both Twitch and Wizards of the Coast. The organization benefits Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals through donations and spreading awareness for children’s health. I don’t know about you, but considering ALL that this year’s D&D Live event will include, I think it’s fair to assume that it will be one of the best yet.

Until we meet again,
