Affiliate Spotlight: The Mana Leek

How do we stay on top of our game and continue to be one of the best brands in the biz for passionate gamers like us? Well, aside from consistently producing premium, top-grade gear, we also make sure to surround ourselves with dedicated artists and affiliates who can help us reach the next level through their awesome content and support. If you’ve been following us for a while, you know that we have an amazing team of affiliates on our side, and The Mana Leek is one of them!

As a content creator, tabletop gaming enthusiast, and passionate MTG player, The Mana Leek checks all the boxes in what we look for in an affiliate, which is why we didn’t hesitate to welcome them to our world.  It also helped when we found out that they purchased their first playmat from us a few years ago, and haven’t shopped for one anywhere else ever since.

It’s because The Mana Leek has been such a great affiliate that we’ve decided to feature them in this month’s Affiliate Spotlight post. Just like before, we sent them 10 interview questions, which are meant to give us a better idea of who The Mana Leek is and what they’re all about.

Let’s see how they responded!

Who are you and what do you do?

I'm The Mana Leek, aka John, As Always! I stream and do videos of mostly Magic the Gathering Best of 3 drafts, but have dabbled in board game content and would like to expand on that in the future!

What type of content do you enjoy making the most?

While Magic's been my bread and butter, board game content has been extremely fun. It lets me craft a story around the game that's being played to bring in people who simply want to experience the game, even if they might not understand all the rules and mechanics that are happening.

What are some hobbies you do when you’re not streaming and/or making videos?

I love cooking and baking. At various times I've gone pretty deep on learning cake decorating (fondant isn't as evil as people think!), learning fancy desserts from Bake Off, and working my way through a far-too-fancy local cookbook with dishes like Coffee and Juniper Rubbed Bison with Charred Vegetables, Chestnut Emulsion, and Celery Root Crumble.

What would be the hat to end all hats? What could you wear on your head that would make people stop what they are doing and stare in awe and amazement?

Surely it would have to be a hat of hats. Just hats stacked one on top of each other as high as you can go, much like in the barely remembered 1990 game, Hatris!

What mythical creature would improve the world most if it existed?

Pegasus, easy. We want flying cars, we need to start with flying horses.

In 40 years, what will people be nostalgic for?

The 90s. Still.

What’s the closest thing to real magic?

Quantum Mechanics. Literal Science Magic.

If life were a video game, what would some of the cheat codes be?

Infinite money, infinite health, but with some catch like your achievements don't count, just like in games!

Do you know why the chicken crossed the road?

I'm not sure why anybody hasn't just asked the chicken...

Where can we find your awesome content?

I stream at twitch.tv/themanaleek, have recorded content at youtube.com/themanaleek, and rant post food pictures at twitter.com/themanaleek

We appreciate The Mana Leek taking the time to answer our questions, and we hope that you enjoyed learning more about them. When you have a chance, you should check out The Mana Leek on Twitch, Twitter, and YouTube

Again, we have a lot of affiliates on our team, so you can expect more fun spotlights like this each month. That goes for our Artist Spotlights as well!

See you next time!

Best,

Inked Gaming
