The Weekly Wave

Welcome back to Inked Gaming’s Weekly Wave! Let’s see what news, updates, and announcements have risen to the surface this week!

A new Shiny Eternatus is waiting for you!

While everyone is counting the days until the Scarlet and Violet launch, Pokémon has forgotten about Sword and Shield. They recently announced that there’s another limited event coming up this weekend that all Trainers should try to take advantage of…while they can. This event comes in the form of an in-store promotion that can be redeemed by those living in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

Beginning on September 18th, players in these regions will have the opportunity to redeem a Shiny Eternatus through GameStop (U.S. and Canada) or EB Games (Australia, and New Zealand). All you have to do is head over to your local shop, where a special code card will be waiting. This code card is the key to unlocking the Shiny Eternatus in Sword and Shield.

Once you’ve obtained this code, you’ll need to launch Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield, select Mystery Gift on the X menu, and choose the ‘Get with Code/Password’ option. From there, simply enter the code and the gift will appear in your game. Just remember to save your game shortly after.

Pokémon also points out that there is no purchase required to receive your code from GameStop of EB Games. So, if you’re making the trip, you may as well pick one a code card while you’re there. This event will end on October 1st. You can get more details HERE.

Marvel World of Heroes

Last weekend, Disney’s D23 expo went live for fans in Anaheim, California. Just like every year, a lot of awesome announcements were made. In addition to Star Wars and their new TCG (Disney Lorcana), which we covered in a previous Weekly Wave, Disney also used the D23 expo to reveal a new AR game coming to mobile in 2023. It’s called Marvel World of Heroes, and it looks like something that could potentially become just as popular as Pokémon GO!

Many are expecting Marvel World of Heroes to reach Pokémon GO’s level, especially since the two have the same developer. That’s right, Niantic is once again at the helm of another awesome mobile AR game that can take the world by storm…if they give it their signature magical touch. Based on what we’ve seen and heard so far, it seems that Marvel World of Heroes will be very similar to Pokémon GO. It will prompt players to explore the open world around them and allow them to team up with real-life friends or notable Marvel characters to combat evil.

World of Heroes will also include a character creation/customization feature that allows you to create a unique superhero of your own and equip special abilities and weapons from your favorite heroes. Now, we like the sound of that! The trailer actually does a nice job of teasing what a battle in World of Heroes can look like. It’s only 30 seconds, but it looks amazing, so you’ll probably find yourself tapping that replay button a few times.

Again, Marvel World of Heroes is set to launch worldwide sometime in 2023, but that’s all we know so far. We’ll definitely keep our eyes open for additional updates that may come out over these next few months. Who knows, we might get to see another awesome trailer before the holidays roll around. In the meantime, you can enjoy the teaser trailer by clicking HERE.

Coming Soon: New Digimon Boxes

We’re already halfway through September, so now is as good a time as any to let you know that another update is coming to our Supply Drop Subscription Boxes in October! A lot of much-needed feedback has come our way since we began sending out our Supply Drops, which we really appreciate and hope continues. This feedback has given us some great ideas on how to make our Supply Drop Boxes better for everyone!

One common suggestion/request that kept popping up is to add another game to our list of TCG options/preferences. So, starting on October 1st, subscribers will be able to request and receive Digimon gear in their scheduled Supply Drops. Of course, we wouldn’t want to spoil the mystery by telling you exactly what you’ll find inside these boxes, but just know that they can greatly enhance your Digimon gameplay experience!

With that said, we want to thank our subscribers for trusting us to be their main supplier of premium goods and for their continued support as we work to perfect these Supply Drops. Keep those suggestions coming. Also, if you have not yet subscribed to our Supply Drop Subscription Boxes, but becoming increasingly intrigued, feel free to swing by our sign-up page before you bounce!

That’s all for now! Stay tuned for our next edition of The Weekly Wave for more fun stories and updates!

Sincerely,

Inked Gaming
