Featured Artist: Lorenzo Bruzzese

Come meet the newest featured artist here at Inked artist Lorenzo Bruzzese! As a concept artist and graphic designer based in Sydney Australia, Lorenzo is currently designing slot games. If you don’t already recognize him from these great designs, you’re going to be really familiar after this short interview. 

1. Who are you and what do you do?

I’m an artist and designer based in Sydney Australia. I currently work as a graphic designer for a slot gaming company.

2. What kind of art do you enjoy doing the most (digital, traditional, paint)?

I really love traditional drawing the most. I really enjoy the feeling of sketching in a new book and working on ideas without the internet or any distraction involved, just me and the sketch.

3. You’re a new addition to the crayon box... What color would you be?
I’m the black crayon, always the black crayon, black crayon 4lyf  :sunglasses:

4. What inspires you?

Magic the gathering artists inspire me the most, their ideas, technical skill and their ability to tell a story in an image is incredible. 

5. What’s your favorite song to jam out to?

Depends on the kind of subject I’m illustrating. If it’s a fantasy piece I’ll put on the God of War soundtrack from the recent game. 

6. If your style was edible what would it be, and why?

It would be a pizza, looks great and is a mix of everything. 

7. A penguin walks through that door right now wearing a little hat. What do they say and why are they here?

“Honk Honk *penguin noises*, we’ve lost the king penguin, we need your help to find him.”

8. What are some hobbies you do when you’re not doing art?

Boxing, Gaming, MTG

9. What superpower would you have, and why?

The powers of Captain Marvel - so I could travel space.

10. How do you know when your art is finished (if ever)?

Illustration for me is like problem solving, the artwork is finished when it answers the problem I start it with.

 
11. Name three artists you’d like to be compared to. 

I don’t want to be compared to anyone but artists that inspire me at Ashley Wood, Kekai Kotaki, James Jean.
