Artist Spotlight: Deltakosh

It’s always fun getting to know our artists, especially the ones who are pretty new to the Inked Gaming community. If you’ve been reading our New Arts and Artists blogs, or closely following the latest additions to our collection, you may have seen Deltakosh’s name pop up a few times. If not, then there’s no better way to introduce them than with this fun Artist Spotlight feature, which we look forward to every month!

Since adding their work to our site back in June, Deltakosh has made quite the impression, both on us and our customers. After seeing some early examples of their art, we were hopeful that they would make a great addition to our community and collection. Just a month later, Deltakosh has exceeded our expectations.

With more amazing designs and products being added to their art page every day, we thought now would be a good time to dive a little deeper into who Deltakosh is and what gives them the power to produce such amazing pieces. So, we sent them our 10 spotlight questions.

Who are you and what do you do?

My name is Deltakosh (well, ok, my REAL name is David Catuhe). I’m from France, but I live near Seattle. I work for Microsoft as Group Engineering Lead. I created several things in my life, including www.babylonjs.com (open source free 3d rendering engine for the web) or www.urzagatherer.app (free app to manage Magic the Gathering cards for players and collectors).

What inspires you?

I’m a HUGE fan of everything fantasy and sci-fi and as such, I spend a lot of time watching related movies, anime, and TV shows and wandering on Reddit looking for some cool ideas.

Ancient Artifact

What are some hobbies you do when you’re not making art?

I’m playing Lego with my daughter, or I’m working on my MTG app 😊 Sometimes I play video games (Elden Ring is the latest one I finished).

What is the best piece of advice you’ve received?

Use references 😊 That could sound dumb, but as a non-professional artist I was always shy/ashamed to use references, and it was super hard to paint from memories only. Until I realize that it was simply dumb to not use all the resources around me.

Cloud Turtle

What would your perfect Saturday be like?

My daughter playing Lego by my side and me on my Wacom doing some paintings.

A penguin walks through that door right now wearing a little hat. What do they say and why are they here?

They are a delegation from an outer space federation, and they were sent to earth to make contact. The federation picked a penguin because they are cool AF! They simply said: "Hi, humans! What’s up?"

Crying Islands

How do you know when your art is finished (if ever)?

I timebox myself! It is never done else. When I reach the end of my timebox, I simply go to bed and wait for another day to give my art a very final check, then it is done!

You’re a new addition to the crayon box... What color would you be and why?

I only use the digital tool, but I would say blue, as I tend to love using blue.

The Forgotten Towers

What's your favorite genre of music to jam out to?

EDM, orchestral techno.

Where can we find more of your awesome artwork?

The Light Castle

We were so excited when Deltakosh agreed to participate in this month’s Artist Spotlight feature, and now you see why. Behind the amazing art, there is a passionate and personable individual who we, and our followers, can connect with on every level. Thank you so much for taking the time to answer our questions, Deltakosh!

And thank you for joining us as well! We’ve had some really great spotlight interviews thus far, and there are more to come. In fact, we have an Affiliate Spotlight coming up very soon, so be on the lookout for that over the next few days!

If you liked what Deltakosh had to say or wish to ask them a question, let us know in the comments below. Also, before you bounce, head over to their collection page and see what other designs they have in addition to the ones shown above!

Best,

Inked Gaming
