MTG has a Lord of the Rings and Warhammer 40k crossover coming soon

Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro (their parent company) have been busy so far this year, especially when it comes to their most popular card game and introducing new crossovers for that game. I recently wrote up a post that detailed the upcoming MTG/D&D crossover that’s coming out this summer and now they have another one that I think you’ll be very interested in. Imagine, a Warhammer 40k and Lord of the Rings and MTG crossover. Now, that’s something that I would love to see, and I’m sure that I’m not alone! This news broke some time back in February and has had passionate gamers and fans of all of those titles jumping for joy ever since. In this post, I’m going to give you just a quick rundown of some of the details and info that we know so far and what we can expect from this newest crossover. As always, I’d like to get your thoughts and opinions, too. But that comes after you’ve read through the post.

With that being said, let’s find out what this newest crossover is all about!

Hasbro officially made this crossover announcement during a meeting that was held just for investors back in February. In that announcement, it was revealed that Lord of the Rings and Warhammer 40k will both soon become a part of MTG, which is truly amazing, to say the least. So far, it’s been confirmed that Lord of the Rings will receive a full expansion of its very own. We’re hopeful that Warhammer will be given the same, but nothing has been made official yet, leaving this part of the story pretty open-ended. These new products will be a part of Wizard’s new Universes Beyond endeavor.

There are some out there who have been speculating that the Warhammer crossover might be more of a Secret Lair drop, much like the Walking Dead crossover. Again, nothing is confirmed or denied on that front, so we’ll just have to wait and see what happens. This is usually the part where I would tell you the exact or approximate release date, but it seems that that is another key detail that has not yet been divulged by an official source. All I can say is that 2022 is looking like a pretty busy year already. We’ll leave it at that.

Now, this is the info that I have so far upon writing this post in mid-March. A lot more valuable info can be revealed between now and the next few weeks. So, if you come across any new details or official announcements, I would appreciate you letting me know in the comments below. I’ll be sure to keep my eyes and ears open as well, and if anything major comes out, I’ll do a little update post to go along with this one.

What’s your take on this latest crossover? Do you think it will be bigger than any of the others that they’ve recently announced and released? I want to know your thoughts and how you think this MTG, Lord of the Rings and Warhammer 40k will be received once it’s officially released. You can learn more about these two new crossovers and MGT’s Universes Beyond initiative by clicking here. Let me know if you find out anything else!

Until we meet again,
