Yu-Gi-Oh! pro summons Exodia twice during modern tournament!

We saw this happen live during a stream that took place over the weekend and just had to add it to this week’s wave. During a Championship Series match that went down in Indianapolis on Saturday, renowned Yugi pro, Jeffrey Leonard, pulled off a true magic act that rocked the entire tournament. He was able to summon Exodia, in all five pieces, not once, but twice in the same match. 

Leonard has developed quite a reputation in the world of professional Yu-Gi-Oh!, largely for the kinds of decks he uses (off-meta) and his exciting gameplay strategies. Because of his unique play style and strategy, Jeffrey Leonard was able to pull off an Exodia one-turn-kill. Once is impressive enough, but twice is nothing short of magical.

With the crowd going wild, Jeffrey fanned out all five pieces of Exodia to automatically win 2 of the 3 matches against his opponent (Justin S.), who made some moves of his own. MTG x Marvel crossover is coming in 2025!

The launch may be two years away, but that hasn’t stopped fans from dreaming about how awesome it’s going to be when they show up to battle with MTG x Marvel cards in their deck. With so many iconic heroes to work with, the possibilities are endless. This collaboration has been in the works for quite some time, and earlier this week, Hasbro and Marvel made their plans official in a sweet little teaser.

No cards, no names, no dates, and no details have been revealed yet, but you can imagine just how amazing these two giants can make this project. The crossover will feature collectibles and a tentpole set. If you thought the Dr. Who and Lord of the Rings partnership was a big deal, this one could be earth-shaking. Just like those crossovers, Marvel will be a part of the Universes Beyond series, which continues to grow in popularity. 

Leaders of both Marvel and Magic have let it be known that this venture/partnership has been brewing for some time and there is no limit to just how fantastic it can be…for years to come. Again, we can expect the official launch sometime in 2025, so we’re going to keep our radar honed in for more teasers, details, and updates along the way.
