Welcome back to Inked Gaming’s Weekly Wave! Let’s see what news, updates, and announcements have risen to the surface this week!
Litwick is Pokémon GO’s Community Day feature
Pokémon GO recently made a special announcement that has lit everyone’s fire ahead of their October 2022 Community Day. Litwick, the candle Pokémon, will be popping up more frequently in Pokémon GO beginning on October 15th. A shiny Litwick will also be wandering around in the wild. Keep your eyes peeled for the blue flame. This is a three-hour event that will last from 2 pm to 5 pm local time.
Trainers who evolve Litwick into Lampent and finally into Chandelure during the event (or up to five hours after) will unlock a new charged attack, known as Poltergeist. So, the Litwick evolution is going to be front and center for this one. This Community Day will also unlock a few cool bonuses, including triple XP and double candy for catching Pokémon.

Once the three-hour Litwick event has concluded, Trainers will have the option to participate in Bonus Raid Battles. Pokémon has pointed out that Raid Passes and Premium Battle Passes (not Remote Raid passes) must be used in order to take part in these battles.
These are 4-Star Raid Battles that will be active from 5 pm to 10 pm, and challenge Trainers to defeat Lampent face to face. Those who are victorious in any one of those raid battles will see a greater number of Litwicks spawn around the gym for up to 30 minutes.
Again, this Community Day event goes down on October 15th at 2 pm local time, so make sure to mark that on your calendar, that way you don’t forget! You can find more info about this event, including the Trick of Light Special Research story, via the Pokémon GO official site.
Good luck, Trainers!
Did you hear about Justin Herbert’s Rookie Cards?
Welcome to the party, Justin Herbert! The million-dollar-rookie-card party, that is! That’s right, last week Herbert had not one, but two of his rookie cards, sell for over $1 million at auction. This puts the young Chargers signal-caller in a category that has only been occupied by two other QBs, Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes. At just 24 years old, Herbert is already hanging with the big boys. The goat and the star!
The first card to sell was Herbert’s 2020 Panini National Treasures Platinum NFL Shield autographed rookie card. This particular card was given an 8.5 grade from Beckett (Near Mint/Mint) and is a rare 1 of 1. Together, these attributes put the card over the goal line to score a $1.8 million sale when the clock ran out.
The other Herbert card to score seven (as in seven figures), was his Panini Prizm Black Finite rookie card. This card has close to the same stats, as it is also a 1 of 1 and has a Beckett grade of 9 (Mint). So, it came as no surprise when this card sold for $1.1 million.
Right now, the Chargers are 1-1 on the season and have a full head of steam heading into week 3. In fact, they are just coming off a close game with the Chiefs, which is led by the other million-dollar-man (in the sports card world), Patrick Mahomes. Who knows, the Chargers go as far as they were expected to this season, or even further, Justin may start a category of his own by 2023/2024!
