Affiliate Spotlight: Crit Camp Gaming

If you’ve been following along with these monthly spotlights, you know how lucky we are to have such awesome artists and affiliates in our community. This month, we reached out to an affiliate that’s been with Inked Gaming for quite some time and asked them to answer some fun questions to help us, and you, get to know them a little better.

Known for its entertaining streams and game nights, Crit Camp is a popular internet series hosted by passionate gamers, Chris and Lyle. Together, these two friends have created a series that has been delivering great content, and gameplay, to gamers since 2014. As our affiliates, Chris and Lyle have shown support for what we do here at Inked Gaming and even given us a few official designs for us to use on our goods, which you’ll see listed below.

With that, let’s see what kind of answers we received from Chris and Lyle!

Who are you and what do you do?

We, Chris and Lyle, are friends who love to play tabletop games together and started Crit Camp as a result. We focus on presenting fun, understandable gameplay while interacting directly with our gaming community. We’re currently playing games like Zombicide Invader, Arkham Horror LCG with our buddy Matt, and a variety of other card and video games.

What type of content do you enjoy making the most?

Living in separate states, Pennsylvania and Tennessee, we love to stream games that we would play if we were living in the same state. We aim to capture the discovery, excitement, humor, and more that comes with a great game night.

What are some hobbies you do when you’re not streaming and/or making videos?

Outside of gaming, Lyle likes to ride and repair motorcycles while Chris can be found fishing streams; you’ll find both mostly ranting about home maintenance and yard work these days!

What would be the hat to end all hats? What could you wear on your head that would make people stop what they are doing and stare in awe and amazement?

Lyle: My hat would have a portal on top of it that could store anything I want in it, no matter the size. I could then grab anything out of it whenever I wanted.

Chris: I would look for my hat inside Lyle’s hat, since it’s probably in there. He has a pretty sick hat of holding. I really just need something to keep the sun off my dome!

What mythical creature would improve the world most if it existed?

Lyle: I would love to see a healing fairy from Legend of Zelda. Anyone that needed to get to full health could just go to this serene pond, talk to the fairy, listen to some sweet music, and feel better.

Chris: Probably one of the Pokémon birds - like a Ho-oh, Articuno, Zapdos, or something? Everyone would stop what they were doing to just take a moment and watch.

In 40 years, what will people be nostalgic for?

In the future, where we assume all our brains are now linked with every tech and person we own and know, I think we’ll be nostalgic for analog anything. Or for the resurgence of emo-punk music. Or KeyForge.

What’s the closest thing to real magic?

MTG? Keyforge. Also, plants that grow and grow and take over your yard no matter what.

If life were a video game, what would some of the cheat codes be?

Don’t need sleep. Can’t get hurt. Or just The Konami Code – the ultimate power.

Do you know why the chicken crossed the road?

To find the egg. First to the egg. Right?

Where can we find your awesome content?

  • @critcamp
  • twitch.tv/critcamp
  • youtube.com/critcamp
  • discord.gg/critcamp

We really never thought about there being an egg on the other side of the road that the chicken crossed. It’s a far better reason than doing it just to get to the other side. We love asking and receiving answers to these spotlight questions, and posting them for you to enjoy as well. The Inked Gaming community is made up of some craft, creative, and quirky personalities, so you never know what kind of answers you’re going to get, which is half the fun.

Again, we thank you for joining us for this month’s Affiliate Spotlight and hope you enjoyed learning more about Crit Camp (Chris and Lyle)! We plan to have an Artist Spotlight posted later this week, so be sure to keep your eyes open for that as well.

See you next time!

Sincerely,

Team Inked
