More details about the festivities will be revealed as we get closer to the date, but for now, Bandai has let it be known that we expect a few special announcements that include toys, card battles, video games, anime, live performances, and more. You can find some more info on their website HERE. Bandai has also let us know that more details should be coming out around February 6th. Be sure to circle your calendar, that way you don’t miss any important updates ahead of the big event!

Collector auctions sports card to help Damar Hamlin!

By now, everyone has heard of Damar Hamlin and the incident that occurred last week during the Bills and Bengals football game. The game was abruptly halted when Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest on the field while the game was in progress. Hamlin was quickly rushed to the hospital and has been in recovering ever since.

Recently, Hamlin’s condition has improved, and thanks to a massive wave of prayers and support from around the world, his spirit is lifted. One sports card collector from upstate New York chose to show his support for Hamlin by auctioning his college football card. The card is a 2021 Panini Prizm RC Autograph Cracked Ice Hamlin card.

This is just one of about 70 in existence, making this particular card a real treasure for passionate collectors. The card’s owner, Ryan O'Toole, even said this card is one of his most prized possessions, but if it served a good cause, he had no problem auctioning it off. So, last Wednesday, O’Toole listed the card on eBay where it sold for $365. This is a far cry from $2.50, which is what he purchased it for just a few weeks before. After the card sold, O’Toole sent 100% of the proceeds to Hamlin’s toy charity, which has reached up to $7 million.

Have you voted for your favorite Ugly Sweater design?

It’s January 2023, and that means that voting for our Kai Ugly Sweater Coloring Contest has officially opened. So far, we’ve received a handful of awesome designs that are now posted on our site and waiting for your votes…and we’re expecting more over the next week or so.

Voting will remain open until January 31st. After that, we will tally the votes and crown the winners on February 1st. Remember, there are three prizes available for the top three designs. Those prizes include the following:

1st Place: $150 Inked Gaming Gift Card

2nd Place: $100 Inked Gaming Gift Card

3rd Place: $50 Inked Gaming Gift Card

Again, we will be accepting submissions until January 20th, so if you want to participate, there’s still time to send in your design. All you have to do is color the mat using the marker set we sent with your Supply Drop box, take a picture when you’re finished, and send it to the submission link. From there, we’ll post it on our page and leave it open to votes from our community.

We can’t wait to see which one of Kai’s Ugly Sweaters takes the crown next month! Click HERE to submit your vote today!

That’s all for now! Stay tuned for our next edition of The Weekly Wave for more fun stories and updates!

Happy New Year!

Sincerely,
