THE WEEKLY WAVE

Welcome back to the Weekly Wave! Let’s see what news, updates, and announcements have risen to the surface this week!

Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales is available now!

If you’re as obsessed with the epic Netflix series as we are, then you know that Sunday was Stranger Things day! On this day, people across the country, and the world, celebrate the characters and creatures from the series through numerous events/activities. These activities include watch parties, special screenings, promotions, and more. Netflix also uses this time to announce some cool new features and fun games coming to the online world. Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales is one of those games!

Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales

If you’re a Netflix subscriber, you can head over to the Google Play or App Store and download Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales today. Netflix describes the game as a “match-3 puzzle RPG”. It allows you to create a team of allies, made up of key characters from the series, and use their (and your) skills to combat some of the series’ most menacing creatures. That means you’re going to have to do battle with Vecna, the Demogorgon, and others.

Several of our team members have already downloaded Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales and say it’s a really fun gem-swap game with a twist. We also like it because there are numerous storylines and characters to follow, and the more you unlock, the bigger the story gets.

Another feature that we enjoy is how the game lets you pick/unlock various versions of your favorite characters based on their progression throughout the seasons. So, you can play with a young Mike, an older Lucas, and/or a more evolved Dustin. With those characters come a host of different abilities and skills that can be used to solve the puzzles and defeat the creatures from the upside down.

If you’ve already played Puzzle Tales, be sure to give us your thoughts and opinions on it in the comments below.

Paramount pushes D&D Honor Among Thieves to late March!

Well, it looks like delays continue to be a factor for Paramount’s much-anticipated D&D title, Honor Among Thieves. If you’ve been following the film’s development as closely as we have, you know that this project has been held up by delays ever since it first began shooting in 2020. It was originally scheduled for release in the summer of 2021, but a certain pandemic forced the production to shut down and delay their plans. So, this is the latest, and hopefully last, delay that the film will be met with.

D&D Honor Among Thieves

Paramount recently announced that Honor Among Thieves' release will be delayed 4 weeks, pushing the official release date to March 31st, 2023 instead of March 3rd. Here we are in November 2022, and we’re already hearing about delays in 2023. All we can hope is that this “minor” delay will be worth it when this awesome adventure lands in theaters.

Speaking of, D&D is actually expected to break the box office in 2023, which is a VERY real possibility if you consider some of the other features that will be in theaters at the same time. With stars like Chris Pine and Michelle Rodriguez leading the charge, and a talented duo of directors, one could argue that D&D: Honor Among Thieves has the potential to be one of (if not the biggest) movies of 2023!
