MTG features Frank Frazetta’s art in Secret Lair Drop!

We caught this update and just had to make sure that all of our followers knew about it! After all, our collection is packed with stunning designs from the late Godfather of Fantasy art, and we’re thrilled to see one of our favorite artists featured in one of our favorite games. It’s no secret that Frank Frazetta’s work is printed on a variety of our premium products, including playmats, dice bags, mousepads, and more. Now, you can add MTG cards to that list as well!

That’s right, Wizards of the Coast recently announced that a handful of Frank’s legendary art is being used in a Secret Lair drop that’s set to pre-release in the next few days. This news has everyone, especially on Team Inked, extremely excited. Frank Frazetta’s work goes all the way back to the 1940s and has been featured on everything from comic books to magazine covers, music albums, and even movie posters.

Since Frank is the creative mind behind some of the most iconic creatures and characters in the fantasy world, this collaboration is a match made in magic heaven. With that said, this upcoming drop is set to present players with five cards that have been reprinted with Frank’s most memorable designs with an MTG twist.

Here are the cards that will be featured:

If Dark Ritual and Midnight Reaper looked familiar, it’s probably because you know them better as the Skull King and Death Dealer. Both are currently featured on a handful of our goods and are great examples of those signature designs that made Frank the Godfather of Fantasy art.  The Skull King and Death Dealer are among our top sellers to date as well.

When can we expect the Frank Frazetta Magic Secret Lair drop to officially…drop? Well, right now, all we can tell you is that pre-ordering for this set will begin on December 5th at 9:00 am PST. So, if you have some free time on Monday, you should get your standard or foil set pre-ordered sooner than later. You can bet that we’re going to have our names on the list too!
