The sacred writings of Nuffle must be enforced and no one else can carry out those writings/enforcements than the Blood Bowl Referees. The referees see to it that the values and rules of the game are being closely/strictly followed by both teams, that way everything stays equal on a level playing field. However, that doesn’t mean they can’t be swayed by the occasional bribe every now and then. Feel free to read that over again and let it sink in.
