The Weekly Wave
Welcome back to the Weekly Wave! Let’s see what news, updates, and announcements have risen to the surface this week!
Return of the Jedi returns to theaters for its 40th Anniversary!
A lot of awesome announcements were made during the Star Wars Celebration event in London earlier this week. The Bad Batch is coming back for a third and final season, a new Rey series is in development, and the first trailer for Visions season 2 has been released. Season 2 of Star Wars Visions is set to premiere on May 4, 2023. But before we say, May the fourth be with you, we have to say May the 40th be with you!
It’s been 40 years since the last installment of the original Star Wars trilogy first landed on the big screen in theaters all over the world. Return of the Jedi marked the end of an era, while laying the path for a new beginning. Today, we are seeing that path develop before our eyes with every new movie and series that has come after it. But, when you reach such a milestone, you can’t help but want to turn back the clock…and that’s just what Disney is doing.

To celebrate its original 1983 release and the impact it has had on fans everywhere every year since, Disney is bringing Return of the Jedi back to theaters for a special 40th-anniversary celebration. Most of us, including me, weren’t around to experience Return of the Jedi’s first release, but Disney is giving us, and those who were, the opportunity to re-live it in the coolest way possible. No matter how big your screen is at home, nothing can compare to watching this epic installment in a theater.
Return of the Jedi returns to big screens across the galaxy on April 28, 2023. We’ll be there! Will you?
Pokémon Horizons’ sneak peek leaked!
Pokémon Horizons is set to make its first official appearance in Japan this Friday (April 14th), but if you can’t wait that long (or longer for those who live in other regions), there’s an online leak that you have to peek at. It’s only a short little preview of the opening scene, but it gives you a nice look at the world and the characters that inhabit it. Again, it’s only about 40 seconds long, but for fans like us who have been waiting so long just to get a glimpse at this new adventure, 40 seconds is long enough.
The leak was posted on Twitter last Friday by a user who goes by @anipoke_PR, who managed to get a nice view of the opening scene, which includes one of the series' new main characters, Liko. Click HERE to watch the preview.

The first episode of this new adventure will be a 1-hour special airing in Japan on Friday. Remember, there is no Ash or Pikachu, but it will be cool to see Liko and Roy begin their journey. Maybe one day 20 years from now, we’ll see them become the very best when their adventure comes to a close. In the meantime, have a look at the sneak peek shown above and let us know what you think!
Chaos has come!
There are all kinds of chaos, but this is the kind that we’re happy to welcome to our collection, especially since it comes from our friends at Thingamajigs! Chaos is the newest design to come from Thingamajigs, and we just started putting it on our goods earlier this week!
Just as the name suggests, Chaos is a powerful piece that presents us with stunning colors and details. Whether it lands on a tabletop or battlestation, this design will make its mark and give you the strength you need. See for yourself:

Once again, Thingamajigs has come through with another awesome artwork that any gamer would like to have by their side during battles! So, if you’re searching for a new TCG playmat, desk mat, or dice bag, you should think about adding some fresh ‘chaos’ to your collection too!
That’s all for now! Stay tuned for our next edition of The Weekly Wave for more fun stories and updates!
Sincerely,
Inked Gaming
